The Khreshchatyk choir performed for the first time on April 9, 1994 at the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine (or the Kiev Conservatory) at the Musical Season Premieres festival. Since then, the choir began its creative path, which has always been closely connected with the artistic life of the city of Kiev and is filled with performance music by contemporary Ukrainian composers. And only now, when we understand how neat and symbolic he called the choir after the heart of the capital of Ukraine - Khreshchatyk Street, even if at that time it was just an amateur choir headed by Larisa Bukhonskaya.
Now that the choir is famous and loved, no one will be surprised to hear that during our musical career we performed 4039 new compositions (as of December 31, 2017), including 1286 premieres. Basically, these are voluminous compositions, including even Les Dychko's “Golden Speaker” Opera in 2009. Too often, some of the most complex contemporary music programs are produced in an incredibly short time. Thanks to this exceptional performance, as well as unrestrained stylistic, genre and technical range and virtuoso skill, the choir has become a regular participant in the Kiev Music Festival, musical premieres of the festival season, the annual Easter assembly, various philharmonic concerts and joint programs with the best orchestras and solo performers in Ukraine. At the same time, our choir takes part in various solemn and official events in our capital, we create our own concert programs (including original adaptations of world famous musical works) and present them to the audience, go on concert tours every time there is an opportunity and collect full houses throughout Ukraine, we perform compositions for audio recording for the National Radio Archive, including performing at the request of composers.
